App Update
Feature entitlement:
deviceManagement · Plan: Basic Device Plan or higher- Device reports current version of signageOS application
- User can anytime remotely and securely update the version to get new features

Install a specific or non-public version
The Core App version dropdown only lists the 60 most recent versions at a time, and by default it shows published releases. If you need to install a specific version that isn't in the list — including a non-public or pre-release build (for example a branch or nightly build provided to you by signageOS) — you can enter it by hand:
- Open the device detail page and go to the Settings tab.
- Find the Core App version card.
- Click the version dropdown and type or paste the exact version string you want to install. The field searches for matching builds, so the version appears even when it isn't shown in the default list.
- Select the matching version from the results.
- Click Save. The version is downloaded and applied to the device remotely.
tip
This also works for the Emulator, since an emulator is a device that runs the Core App version you set here. Paste the exact version into the same field to run the Emulator on that build.
note
Android does not support downgrading applications — you can only move to a version higher than the one currently installed.
