Extended control for Sony

Sony devices provisioned through the Sony cloud expose a large set of vendor settings under Extended control, covering far more than the other platforms.

Feature entitlement: extendedControl · Plan: 👑 Pro Device Plan or higher

What you get there:

  • Monitoring information — model, serial number, MAC addresses, screen on/off state, PRO mode, current external input and volume.
  • Device settings — PRO mode selection and the settings each mode unlocks, grouped by area and varying with the Android version of the device.
  • Firmware upgrade — trigger an upgrade from the firmware catalogue.
  • Allowed applications — control which applications are available on the device.

Settings are read from the display on demand rather than continuously, so the tab asks you to load them with Load settings and offers a Refresh afterwards. The display must be powered on to answer.

Requirements: a Sony device provisioned through Bulk provisioning or QR code zero-touch provisioning, which is what connects it to the Sony cloud.
