Video playback on BrightSign is leveraging native video player implemented in Brightscript - that applies for every video you play using sos.video JS API.

Here are some more details about video playback:

Can BrightSign play multiple videos at once?
Yes, but the sum of resolutions of each playing video should not exceed the BrightSign player output resolution.

Example:
You deploy BrightSign HD behind FullHD display - the BrightSign output resolution is 1920x1080. You can play then:

  • 1 video with resolution 1920x1080
  • 2 videos with resolution 960x1080

Can BrightSign play UHD videos?
Yes, on the XT/XD models. The important aspect of that is you have to connect BrightSign XT/XD to the UHD display and also make sure the BrightSign output resolution is set to UHD.
