How to allow Extended Control on Tizen via RM Server

signageOS integrated Samsung RM Server to bring additional set of features and management capabilities. The RM Server is hosted and managed by signageOS. Please note that this is a premium feature and can be set up remotely since version 2.2.0.

The main benefits and features are:

  • VNC remote desktop
  • ability to turn display ON if it's in standby
  • ability to switch display sources between Core App and HDMI/DP

Once you set up the connection to the RM server, your device will be marked with Extended Control label and you will get access to additional features within the Box.

Manual Step via IR Remote Control

  1. Open OSD Menu by pressing [MENU] button on the IR Remote controlmi-rm-01.png
  2. Navigate to Network -> Server Settingsmi-rm-02.png
  3. Set MagicInfo Mode to Premium
  4. Set Server Access to Allow, then
  5. Navigate to Connect to servermi-rm-03.png
  6. Set Server Address to rm1.signageos.io
  7. Set SSL to use
  8. Set Port to 443
  9. Turn display off and on

Automatic setup

  1. Update your Tizen Core App to the version 2.2.0 or newer if it's available. If not, reach out to our support.
  2. All above-mentioned settings will be applied automatically once the new Core App is installed.

Please note: In case you would like to use your own RM server, please contact Support with server address, SSL and port.
