signageOS integrated Samsung RM Server to bring additional set of features and management capabilities. The RM Server is hosted and managed by signageOS. Please note that this is a premium feature and can be set up remotely since version 2.2.0.
The main benefits and features are:
- VNC remote desktop
- ability to turn display ON if it's in standby
- ability to switch display sources between Core App and HDMI/DP
Once you set up the connection to the RM server, your device will be marked with Extended Control label and you will get access to additional features within the Box.
Automatic setup
- Update your Tizen Core App to the version
2.2.0
or newer if it's available. If not, reach out to our support. - In case you want to do a manual setup, please follow the instructions in the second part of this article. All of the manual settings there are applied automatically once the new Core App is installed.
Please note: In case you would like to use your own RM server, please use the CoreApp version from 2.6.2-allow-rm.3543 for the initial provisioning to make sure the settings are saved or follow the steps to save the MagicInfo settings on the already provisioned device
- Create a new Device Policy from the Device Policies page from the left navigation panel. Then select RM Server URL to input the value
- The format for the RM Server should be address:port - http(s)://my.server.com:7001
- TLS use is determined based on usage of HTTP(S) protocol
- Apply the newly created Device Policy via Bulk Action or Manage device policies on the settings page of a specific device
- You can find RM server input for individual devices under Device detail -> Settings tab
