To upgrade/downgrade firmware on your device please follow steps relevant to the display manufacturer:
Don't power off the display during Firmware installation under any circumstances.
If you are having a Tizen display and your Firmware version is lower then 20xx (eg. T-HKMLAKUC-1006.4) you have a pre-production display that might/might not be upgradable. Kindly always check with our support team or Samsung team the compatibility or use a different display.
How to check Firmware version on Samsung
To check your Firmware version, use IR Remote control and navigate to Menu -> Support -> Contact Samsung. Check the line Software version and compare the value with our table of supported firmwares for your model.
How to upgrade Firmware on Samsung
- download Firmware from our repository based on your exact model name
- unzip the file into the root folder of your USB flash drive (eg.:
F://image/image.md) - turn on the display
- plug in the USB flash drive
- switch to HDMI input
- Press MENU on remote control
- navigate to Support menu item and select Software update
- confirm the "Search for Firmware n the USB flash drive"
- once Firmware is discovered select to update the Firmware
- wait until the display finishes the upgrade (might be more then 20 minutes)
Note: On newer models you might be prompted to use USB update only after selecting Software update option without Downloading it from outside source.
- Download Firmware from our repository based on your exact model name
- unzip the file into the
LG_MONITORfolder placed in the root folder of your USB flash drive (eg.:F://LG_MONITOR/file.epk) - turn on the display
- plug in the USB flash drive
- display will automatically show the upgrade dialog
- select the Firmware
- press Confirm or Upgrade to continue
- wait until the display finishes the upgrade (might be more then 20 minutes)
The Firmware is not visible? Follow these additional steps:
- Press Exit on the IR remote control
- Press Settings on the IR remote control
- navigate to General option in the menu
- press 7 times 7 on the remote control
- follow the steps above
